Having decided to study European Diplomacy, I wasn’t fully convinced it had been the right choice. On the one hand, wide-ranging and unprecedented in Poland programme offered by Willy Brandt’s Centre and the Faculty of Social Science of the Wrocław University seemed to meet my expectations in 100 per cent.  On the other hand, as it was a newly-established field of study, I couldn’t get the information how it really works in practice, because there were no earlier generations of students on whose experiences one could draw.

Now that I’m doing my third semester I must say that I definitely don’t regret having chosen European Diplomacy.  The interdisciplinary nature of this programme is one of its biggest advantages. But what is even more important than the subjects, is the way the classes are conducted, which is mainly by engaging us into discussions. It gives students the opportunity to develop the skills connected with argumentation and defending our opinion and often leads to unconventional conclusions. The learning process is also more effective due to the limited number of students accepted each year to do the programme. It definitely encourages integration which also translates into the level of students’ satisfaction connected with their studies.
